Auto Update Alt Text helps WordPress editors find images with missing or weak alternative text and draft replacements for review. It uses OpenAI image analysis, but you decide what is saved to the media library.

Simple workflow
- Enter your OpenAI API key in Settings and choose your model and prompt mode.
- Select the post types and statuses to include in your run.
- Start the scan; the plugin finds attachment-backed images in the selected content.
- Generate draft descriptions, then review the results.
- Review suggestions in the Results panel and apply the ones you approve.
Compatibility
Auto Update Alt Text requires an OpenAI Platform API key. The free version scans standard posts and pages; Premium also scans supported custom post types. Images need to resolve to WordPress media library attachments before their alt text can be updated.
What a paid order includes
After checkout, you receive the downloadable plugin ZIP and a license key for activation. The lifetime key works on one active website at a time and can be moved after deactivation. A free download option is also available on this page.
